Course overview

This course aims to consolidate students' theory, knowledge and practice of previous performing arts and media arts courses and apply those skills to produce professionally realised scenes from contemporary Australian television drama series. Students will focus on the development of a professional relationship between director and actor in order to develop believable character, character interaction and scene development in the service of narrative. The course will include: specialised script evaluation; research of character; use of one camera in line with current professional production techniques relevant to creating televised spoken drama. Students will complete televised scenes of broadcast quality under the guidance of an industry director.
