Course learning outcomes
- In collaboration with relevant interdisciplinary team members, conduct a comprehensive assessment and document a plan of care for people across the lifespan in a high acuity setting
- Implement safe and effective person-centred nursing care for people in high acuity settings to achieve identified health outcomes
- Use problem-solving skills and research evidence to evaluate and revise a plan of care to meet the continuing needs of the person within the high acuity setting
- Demonstrate appropriate communication strategies to promote an optimal physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual environment for people in high acuity settings
- Apply analytical skills in accessing health information and research evidence in the provision of person-centred nursing care
- Evaluate own nursing practice in accordance with professional standards, legal and ethical policies and codes of practice and revise where appropriate
- Demonstrates the principles associated with the safe administration of medications, including pharmacological perspectives
