Course overview

A thesis is an argument developed from a research project to address a specific question the student has undertaken. A minor thesis evolves from a small research project documented in a written report following the conventions for thesis writing.

Course learning outcomes

  • Complete an identified research project within the required timeframe
  • Collect data in accordance with the methods and timelines detailed in the approved research/ethics proposal
  • Analyse the data obtained in accordance with the methods detailed in the approved research/ethics proposal
  • Discuss the significance and limitations of their research
  • Drawing on the research, develop a coherent argument relevant to the field of study, presented as a minor thesis or thesis by publication
