Course overview
This course aims to empower critical care nurses with the advanced leadership, clinical, and decision-making capabilities essential for driving innovation in practice, enhancing patient outcomes, and cultivating resilient interprofessional teams within diverse and high-stakes critical care environments. Through the integration of current evidence, safety and governance guidelines, and specialised clinical knowledge, nurses will develop the expertise to effectively address complex patient needs and lead during critical incidents.

Course learning outcomes
- Identify and apply contemporary evidence to advance innovation and excellence in critical-care nursing practice.
- Identify deficiencies and vulnerabilities in nursing care delivery; then, design and describe evidence-based strategies to enhance patient outcomes and service quality.
- Integrate advanced clinical knowledge to manage patients with complex or specialised needs across diverse critical care contexts.
- Evaluate and apply safety, quality, and governance frameworks to strengthen risk management and service delivery in critical care.
