Course overview
This course will enable registered nurses to develop the specialist knowledge and skills to manage and lead the provision of comprehensive, evidence based nursing care to critically ill clients across the lifespan. Evidenced based practice in critical care nursing, comprehensive nursing assessment including advanced data collection and interpretation, clinical reasoning, problem solving and decision making, comprehensive care planning and nursing management of the patient with complex critical illnesses, use of technology, paediatric and obstetric considerations (including resuscitation), retrieval of the critically ill patient, clinical leadership, nursing accountability, clinical governance, scope of practice, professional, legal and ethical aspects of nursing care.
