Course overview

This course provides the clinician with specialist skills and knowledge to function at an advanced level as an anaesthetic and/or PACU nurse in the clinical environment where anaesthetic services are provided. Topics presented within this course will cover the specialist knowledge and clinical skills required to enable the student to provide comprehensive perianaesthesia care to their patients in the preoperative, intraoperative and post-operative phases of the patient’s perioperative journey. This course builds on the initial knowledge developed during the Introduction to Perioperative Practice course and compliments the course content of the Best Practice in Circulating and Instrument Nursing course.
