The aim of this course is to prepare and ensure students are safe as beginning practitioners demonstrating fundamental knowledge, skills and professional behaviours.

Course learning outcomes
- Apply nursing knowledge and skills in the provision of fundamental person-centred care to a client/patient in a simulated health care environment
- Apply a systematic approach when conducting a basic person-centred health assessment, identifying normal and abnormal findings
- Demonstrate professional communication, interprofessional collaboration and person-centred nursing care that promotes safety and quality in a health care environment
- Demonstrate professional behaviours by complying with Adelaide University and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia legal and ethical policies, standards and codes of practice including the use of social media
- Reflect on current learning and the implications for ongoing professional self-development
- Demonstrate knowledge of scope of practice in the provision of nursing care
