- Describe the concepts of healthy ageing for individuals, groups, communities, and populations including the factors that influence the ability to age well in contemporary society
- Explore the role of the Registered nurse in supporting a healthy ageing approach to care of older people across home, community, hospital, and aged care settings
- Apply knowledge of the ageing process to inform clinical decision making and person-centred nursing care for older people
- Describe strategies to communicate effectively with older people and their families
- Conduct and document a health assessment on an older person
- Describe the concepts of grief and loss, bereavement, and palliative care
- Describe strategies to promote safety and well-being of older people that comply with relevant legislation, standards, and policies
