Course overview
Students undertake individual lessons supervised by their principal instrumental /specialist teacher. Performance students also attend regular Performance Classes at which they are expected to perform regularly as required. Performance in regular ensemble activity, as directed and participation in student concerts. Conducting students are expected to participate in activities as designated by their conducting coordinator.
Work in all these areas forms a preparatory path towards a Major (50 minute) Recital at the end of the semester comprising a program of music demonstrating appropriate achievement in stylistic, artistic and technical areas of performance.

- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all the elements comprising the musical specialisation concerned
- Exhibit a high level of musical self-awareness and critical judgement
- Show well-developed understanding of the professional musical world, its musical standards and the context in which the specialisation concerned operates
- Display reliability and flexibility in responding to a wide variety of musical challenges
