Course overview
VR (Virtual Reality), MR (Mixed Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) are technologies that are quickly changing the way we consume media, play games, educate, and communicate. Research surrounding the use of these technologies is now prevalent in areas such as medicine, museum studies, psychology, architecture, historical visualisation and engineering, just to name a few. In this course, you will not only critically assess VR software design in relation to physiological impact from a research focused perspective, you will also acquire core production skills in 3D asset generation, immersive sound and game-engine manipulation for VR frameworks. This course culminates in you designing and creating your own stand-alone VR experience running on the latest HMDs (Head Mounted Displays).
