Course overview
This course is designed to provide students with a range of advanced film theories, methodologies and research frameworks to carry out sophisticated research and help them draw their thesis or creative work closer to questions around film research in the 21st century. Students will work through a carefully devised set of Film Studies themes and topics based on set films each week. Through the seminars and the written assessment tasks, students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of key debates in film studies and will apply critical analysis to questions that interest them.

- Evaluate relevant primary and secondary sources
- Interpret film criticism and apply it to academic argument and discussion
