Course overview

This course will enable students to apply the theoretical knowledge and practical skills learnt throughout their degree to a professional experience. Students will undertake an industry-focussed experience that may include an industry placement, industry research project or consultancy. The real-world experience gained will provide personal growth and development relevant to their program and graduate career aspirations. Students will also be encouraged to critically reflect and analyse the experience from both professional and personal perspectives, including the workplace practices experienced and how their studies helped inform their role.

  • Gain professional experience in an industry or organisation relevant to their program and/or major
  • Explain and analyse the practice and role of a specific discipline within an organisation or industry
  • Critically reflect on the value of the experience, including how their program equipped them for their placement, the theoretical frameworks that informed their work, and how the placement has influenced their future career direction
  • Utilise the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies to undertake relevant professional tasks and produce effective outputs
