Course overview

This course will enable students to apply the theoretical knowledge and practical skills learnt throughout their degree to a professional experience. Students will undertake an industry-focussed experience that may include an industry placement or industry research project. Students will develop and action their career plan, including networking and joining professional associations. Students will be encouraged to critically reflect and analyse the experience from both professional and personal perspectives.

Course learning outcomes

  • Apply specialist skills to perform a below-the-line film and television role to a professional standard
  • Engage professionally and collaboratively in a below-the-line role as part of a film and television production crew
  • Apply a range of storytelling and specialist skills to develop and pitch a longform feature film or television series proposal
  • Action a professional career plan, including creating a specialist showreel, networking and joining professional associations
