Course overview
This course equips students with the theoretical and applied skills required to research, develop, implement and evaluate media and communication projects, campaigns and activities. The course consolidates foundational knowledge and professional competencies acquired through earlier courses in the media and communication core and majors, extending this to the integration, planning and management of media and communication projects in a range of professional contexts.
Course learning outcomes
- Understand the theoretical knowledge, frameworks and skills that inform strategic planning
- Conduct and analyse formative research, and use this to inform the development of goals and objectives
- Develop and identify the scope of a strategic project, taking into account relevant legal and ethical considerations
- Identify and implement project management techniques, including budgets and schedules
- Understand techniques for coordinating work teams, and apply these to groupwork
