Course overview

This course offers a survey of Hollywood film, contextualizing it as the product of an artistic, industrial and ideological centre; the course develops skills in research, analysis, and communication.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate familiarity with the historic, industrial and formal strategies of Hollywood film and television
  • Demonstrate the comprehension of camera, sound and editing technologies and techniques/
  • Understand all stages of the film and television production cycle from concept to screen that create and produce content for film, television and other media forms
  • Demonstrate the ability to critically analyse Hollywood in writing and in practice
