Course overview
Specialised study in an area of expertise of an internal or visiting academic. Topics will be at an advanced level and of significance in contemporary applied mathematical research. Learners will gain knowledge and skills required for research in this topic area. The specific choice of topic will be influenced by current research activities and projects within the School of Mathematical Sciences.
Course learning outcomes
- Evaluate complex problems in an advanced field of applied mathematics
- Interpret the solutions of complex problems in an advanced field of applied mathematics
- Appraise the significance of the course content to contemporary applied mathematical research
- Devise applications of the course content in science, engineering or finance (e.g., relate the course content to learners’ own research interests)
