Course overview
Mathematics Research Project 1 and Mathematics Research Project 2 form a 1-year course aimed at preparing students for research in an area of contemporary mathematics or statistics. Students undertake an individual research project or advanced study under the guidance of an academic supervisor.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate familiarity with research in an area of mathematics or statistics
- Demonstrate skills in interpreting and evaluating research literature
- Demonstrate skills in conducting research
- Demonstrate skills in communicating research outcomes in both oral and written form
