Course overview
This course introduces the concepts and methods of topological data analysis to a multidisciplinary audience of students ranging from pure mathematics to data science backgrounds.
Course learning outcomes
- Explain fundamental concepts in topology and how they apply to data analysis
- Carry out calculations with homology using algorithmic techniques
- Discuss case studies in the use of topological data analysis
- Apply techniques of topological data analysis to data sets using computational techniques
- Present results of data analysis in a clear and effective way
