Course overview
The course gives a foundational introduction to the analysis of networks, including: definitions, summary statistics and metrics and algorithms, and fundamental mathematical modelling approaches.
Course learning outcomes
- Describe networks via the relevant underlying data types and collection processes
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to represent, summarise, and model networks using advanced models
- Demonstrate skills in analysing networks using advanced models and inference techniques
- Apply network theory to solve a variety of real-world problems at an appropriate level of difficulty
- Demonstrate skills in communicating mathematics and complex network analysis, including using visualisation
