Course overview
The aim of this course is to provide students with the necessary mathematical foundations for a program in data analytics. The aim of this course is topics covered in this course include: arithmetic and algebraic operations, linear equations in one and two variables, quadratic equations, logarithmic and exponential functions, matrices and determinants, absolute value and inequalities, sets, basic probability and statistics.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of foundational mathematics concepts of algebra, key mathematical functions, probability and statistics.
- Select and apply appropriate mathematical techniques to solve problems.
- Communicate using appropriate mathematical concepts and language.
