Course overview
This is an introduction to university mathematics for those who have studied SACE stage 2 Mathematical Methods but not Specialist Mathematics. It gives learners who have previously studied the fundamentals of calculus experience in further topics involving differential and integral calculus as well as mathematical structures such as functions, vectors and complex numbers, which are fundamental to a wide range of applications, and serve as a basis for those progressing to further study in algebra and calculus.
- Vectors
- Real And Complex Numbers
- Differential Calculus
- Integral Calculus
Course learning outcomes
- Explain the mathematical concepts and apply techniques that form the basis of study in algebra and calculus at university level
- Apply mathematical methods to formulate and solve problems involving physical systems and geometry
- Use logical arguments to make connections between mathematical concepts and to solve problems
- Demonstrate skills in communicating mathematics
