Course overview
This course recognises the importance of the process of property development, the participants, as well as the pertinent issues confronting the property sector. The analytical skills in market research and feasibility studies will equip you with the knowledge to make sound development decisions. With an understanding of the interactions and roles played by the various participants in property development, not only will it help you to become a better property developer, property development manager or consultant, you will also be able to manage the project team well to achieve desirable development objectives.
Course learning outcomes
- Critically review the real estate development process, including the roles of other professionals
- Critically analyse the interaction of space consumers, space providers, infrastructure providers, the community and regulators in the property development process
- Produce market research for residential development, commercial development or industrial development project
- Produce a preliminary economic feasibility study for a small to medium sized residential development, commercial development or industrial development project
- Conduct valuation of development land and identify issues in property development projects
- Critically analyse the trends and issues in the property development market
