Course overview
This course explores the world of exhibition design and delivery. Students will work together to develop and present an actual exhibition based on a set theme and using museum/art gallery objects. Experts with experience in a range of exhibition skills will mentor students as they undertake this journey.
Course learning outcomes
- Understand the range of skills necessary to plan, design and deliver an exhibition.
- Critically assess options for exhibition development, installation, and interpretation, and the impact of curatorial decisions on stakeholder communities.
- Show an understanding of a range of issues concerning the transfer, care, and display of objects and artworks.
- Understand the key tools available to museum and gallery professionals to assist with exhibition development.
- Demonstrate the capacity to work as part of a team to achieve an outcome.
