Course overview
An entry-level lawyer who practises in consumer law should be able to advise clients on the procedures and remedies available in relation to consumer protections complaints and disputes; and represent the client in any related negotiations or proceedings.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate knowlege of the legal principles of consumer law.
- Critically evaluate and interpret information necessary to perform competently as graduate entry lawyer in the field of consumer protection.
- Apply different formats to create works containing effective, clear communication in the field of consumer protection.
- Identify relevant legal strategies to apply with the practice of Consumer Law, appropriate to a graduate entry lawyer and represent clients in related negotiations or proceedings.
- Identify and apply ethical principles which govern legal practice in the field of consumer protection.
- Demonstrate skills in communicating orally and in writing to advise clients on the procedures and remedies available in relation to consumer protections complaints and disputes.
