Course overview
This course provides a foundation regarding the multiple areas of intersection between law and business, and the crucial practical, legal and ethical issues that arise. Students will gain an understanding of the business context in which law operates, and the core business/commercial law areas such as business structures, consumer protection, operational liability that will be developed in later years courses to fulfil accreditation purposes. They will also have the opportunity to develop skills of negotiation, communication and working collaboratively, and will engage with the digital and technological resources that are used in this area of practice. The combination of skills and knowledge covered in this course are applied to simulated, real-world business scenarios that prepare students to be creative, ethical and digitally-literate practical problem solvers.
