Course overview

This course will provide students with a foundational grounding and fundamental understanding of the development and application of key sources of law and administrative and regulatory institutions applicable to aviation in Australia and globally. Contents include: The Australian legal system and the historical development of the Australian and international aviation legal/regulatory framework; International aviation law and key conventions; National aviation policy; Key Public and Private law fundamentals and their relevant application to the Aviation industry; Environmental Law; Key legal and regulatory considerations affecting aviation safety, aviation security, air traffic management, and airline operations; Aviation accident investigations in domestic and international scenarios; Legal/regulatory considerations in Carriage by Air and Damage by Aircraft; Emerging aviation technologies and future legal/regulatory development considerations.
