Course overview

This innovative foundational course is a dynamic offering that incorporates emerging issues as they arise nationally and globally. It challenges students to critique current legal, societal and political issues through a lens of legislation, case law, legal theory and philosophy. Students will be supported to develop the research skills to plan a major project that will critically and creatively analyse the law’s ability to respond to future challenges, including the role of legislatures and lawyers to activate change in areas such as sustainability and big data. It is a foundation for the Future Law Project, where students will apply these perspectives to propose solutions to some of these contemporary real-world problems.
