Course overview
This course will advance students' proficiency in spoken and written Italian and to advance their intercultural knowledge of Italian literacy and filmic representation. Students will consolidate and further develop advanced vocabulary, structures and texts related to a range of linguistic situations, themes and topics further developing accuracy, flexibility and fluency. Students will also develop advanced intercultural knowledge integral to the range of situations and tasks in the language texts and through online Italian interactions. Students will explore literary and filmic representations of contemporary Italian language and culture.

- analyse and use the main structures and idioms of the Italian language with greater accuracy and fluency
- identify and use varieties of Italian in institutional contexts
- consolidate expertise and demonstrate linguistic and intercultural sensitivity in formal and informal interactions
- analyse advanced grammatical concepts relating to the topics and uses of Italian covered
- apply critical skills in the analysis of selected works of Italian writers and filmmakers
- critically reflect on the intercultural aspects of the literary and filmic representations studied
