Course overview

This course will provide students with an authentic experience of a European Language and Culture (French or Italian) at an advanced level through an In-country immersion by studying at an approved tertiary institution. Students will undertake a negotiated program with the host institution in the country of their target language. Students will develop a range of communication tasks related to contemporary themes and topics that extend students' understanding and use of a wide range of vocabulary, sentence structures and text types and deepen their sociocultural awareness of the communities and intercultural understanding in communication in their target language.

Course learning outcomes

  • demonstrate advanced understanding and produce a range of text types appropriate to the student's level of proficiency
  • evaluate and express arguments, beliefs and values in the target language at an advanced level
