Course overview
This course aims to provide a student with an advanced and in-depth experience in reflexive and entrepreneurial journalism practice through a range of production exercises and projects. Focusing on areas such as science, sports, travel and arts & culture journalism, the course will provide students with industry relevant projects, with the aim of producing industry standard journalism work across a range of platforms.
Course learning outcomes
- Produce an industry standard piece of journalism in written, audio and/or visual form
- Demonstrate the ability to research and plan a polished piece of journalism in a specific time- period
- Demonstrate an awareness of the ethical and legal guidelines and requirements involved in the production of a news story
- Reflect on the production process the incorporating relevant concepts and ideas
- Understand the nature of different platforms and technologies in the production and publications of news media and be able to engage with said platforms

If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
