Course overview
This course will introduce students to the processes involved in the construction and interpretation of various creative texts and to develop students' own skills as readers and writers through in-depth engagement with texts. Through this introductory creative-critical approach to textual study based on the writing and re-writing of texts, students will learn theoretical perspectives on literary study, the interface between language and literary/non-literary texts, and the interplay possible between writers, readers and text. Using this knowledge, students will then produce their own interventions on a wide range of texts through creative writing, critical analysis and group presentations.
