Course overview
Students will undertake an individual applied research project based within a workplace or industry context.
This is an advanced research project conducted individually under the guidance of an academic supervisor. It gives students the chance to investigate and contribute to an area at the cutting edge of cyber security. As part of the project, students will present their work to an audience and write a major report detailing their results.
Course learning outcomes
- Manage data in accordance with relevant professional and academic standards and requirements.
- Analyse data to derive conclusions and address the research question and research problem.
- Make recommendations based on the data/research findings, demonstrating an ability to construct professional advice relating to the technical practice, management and policy of cyber security.
- Present research results and recommendations in forms appropriate to different stakeholder audiences, demonstrating academic and professional communication skills (including formal report writing, and giving presentations).
- Critically evaluate the research project, demonstrating relevant professional and academic reflexivity and awareness of relevant standards.
