Course overview
Students will undertake an individual applied research project based within a workplace or industry context.
This is an advanced research project conducted individually under the guidance of an academic supervisor. It gives students the chance to investigate and contribute to an area at the cutting edge of cyber security. As part of the project, students will present their work to an audience and write a major report detailing their results.
Course learning outcomes
- Identify and refine a research question appropriate to cyber security, addressing technical practice, management, and/or policy considerations and challenges.
- Critically analyse the literature in a specific field of cyber security.
- Scope a research project and produce a project proposal presenting and justifying the research, as appropriate to academic and professional conventions in cyber security and to presented feasibility constraints.
- Demonstrate awareness and compliance with relevant academic and professional ethics and codes of conduct related to research.
