Course overview
This course aims to enhance students' capabilities in leading teams and managing cybersecurity risks in data-driven projects. Through the integration of leadership theory, team dynamics, governance and cybersecurity principles, students will develop strategic and ethical decision-making skills necessary for leading diverse teams in complex and technologically advanced environments. By the end of the course, students will be proficient in applying project management, ethics and cybersecurity best practices to ensure the success and security of data science initiatives.

Course learning outcomes
- Apply leadership, decision-making and team-based skills to effectively communicate and collaborate within diverse teams in data science projects.
- Incorporate cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse practices into data science projects, including perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Integrate governance and cybersecurity principles in data science projects, considering data protection and risk management.
- Apply ethical principles to guide professional conduct, considering the implications of leadership decisions and cybersecurity strategies.
- Utilise project management tools and techniques to plan data science projects that deliver successful outcomes.
