Course overview
The aim of this course is to plan and execute a project in a discipline specific area using evidenced based practice that is professionally focused working with an academic supervisor. Students undertake a major research project with an academic supervisor. The project will be aimed at solving a practical or theoretical problem and will be reported as a research paper.
Course learning outcomes
- Undertake evidence-based practice in a discipline specific area.
- Develop a research question(s) or hypothesis and research method appropriate to the question or hypothesis.
- Critique and analyse literature that supports the topic and methodology.
- Collection and record data in qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, or historical research.
- Analyse and evaluate data and present preliminary findings to an audience.
- Prepare and write a research report.
- Apply the ethical codes of conduct to the research project.
