Course overview

This course develops the ability to investigate state-of-the-art research and technology in information and communications technology (ICT). Students analyse current industry advancements and research directions being pursued in ICT to inform and improve the workplace. Students will disseminate the knowledge to the workplace.

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe current research-based knowledge and technical and/or creative skills in ICT
  • Evaluate complex information and ideas, industry advancements, state-of-the-art research and technology and evaluate the potential impact on and opportunities for the workplace
  • Assimilate research and findings and communicate complex information and concepts to broad audiences
  • Apply research methods, techniques and tools applicable to ICT research
  • Apply ethical and cultural principles and practices in conducting and reporting research, ensuring integrity and compliance with professional standards
