Course overview

In this course students will evaluate and implement secure software development practices. Students will gain skills and knowledge in the following: The importance of integrating secure software development practices with software development methodologies; techniques for the identification of potential vulnerabilities in contemporary software development artefacts; implementing best practices for secure software development and software security auditing.

Course learning outcomes

  • Identify cyber security risks relevant to the software development lifecycle.
  • Apply techniques to determine potential vulnerabilities in software applications, including those developed in-house and using third-party code.
  • Develop recommendations for implementing best practices in secure software development and software security auditing.
