Course overview
The aim of this course is to explore and apply text and social media analytic methods and tools. The aim of this course is topics covered in this course include: principles of text analytics, information retrieval; acquiring data from social media; content analysis, sentiment analysis; using text analytics methods; and analysing social media-sourced text data to address a business question.
Course learning outcomes
- Extract text and other data types from web sites.
- Determine the data requirements to extract from web and social network sites needed to address a business problem.
- Apply a range of analytics techniques to text that has been derived from web or social network sources.
- Review the use of analytics tools applied to a business problem.
