Course overview
The aim of this course is to develop skills in data visualisation and communicating with data. The aim of this course is topics in this course include: infrastructure for data visualisation, human side of visualisation, design and construction of visualisation, exploratory approaches to discover insights about data, visualisation for analysis and communication, and visual analytics software.
Course learning outcomes
- Classify different data types for particular visualisation approaches and select the most appropriate to convey meaning.
- Create data visualisations using visualisation software.
- Describe and critique common data visualisation approaches to discover insights from data.
- Use appropriate data visualisation techniques when exploring data and communicating results of analytics.
