Course overview

The aim of this course is to provide the skills to effectively work in an Agile team and understand enterprise governance practices. The aim of this course is topics covered in this course include: Agile development; Scum methodology; velocity/sustainability; charts; introduction to governance; governance models for organisation information systems; ITIL® foundation; service management as a practice; the ITIL® service lifecycle; service strategy, service design, service transition, and continual service improvement; introduction to service operation; service operation principles; service operation processes; common service operation activities; organising for service operation; technology considerations; implementation of service operation; challenges, critical success factors and risks; and use of appropriate tools to cost a project.

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe how project management skills can be used in an Agile process.
  • Discuss the Scrum methodology and the team roles.
  • Apply requirements and design skills in a Scrum process.
  • Select priority requirements then plan, execute and review an increment.
  • Apply the ITIL framework for service management.
  • Describe the need for governance processes in IT organisations.
