Course overview

The aim of this course is to derive the systems requirements for a given problem statement, and design the user experience for an information technology solution. The aim of this course is topics covered in this course include: introduction to design methodologies, requirements gathering, systems analysis, documenting the requirements, user centered design, user experience, and evaluation and validation.

Course learning outcomes

  • Given a problem statement, identify the key aspects of the users to construct user profiles and assemble the requirements based on stakeholder priorities.
  • Describe the system requirements following appropriate standards.
  • Select the requirements to construct the use cases.
  • Explain a human centred design process.
  • Apply a human centred design process to document a user interface.
