Course overview
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the key theoretical, formal and practical aspects of film and television. Students will be introduced to the basic professional skills, equipment, techniques and practices that underpin video production. Students will have the opportunity to develop their technical and storytelling skills through the production of a short narrative video.
Course learning outcomes
- demonstrate familiarity with the historic and contemporary strategies of video production
- apply camera, sound and editing techniques that adhere to basic professional practice expectations
- implement all stages of the video production cycle from concept to screen
