Course overview

The aim of this course is to develop professional practices used in the data analytics industry. The aim of this course is topics covered in this course include: roles in the data analytics community, key phases of the data analytics process, data security, privacy, ethics and cultural awareness.

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe the various roles within the data analytics community.
  • Identify the development phases of data analytics process and develop skills associated with them.
  • Identify the privacy and security concerns emerging in contexts using data analytics methods.
  • Describe how data analytics can impact on indigenous, cultural and diverse groups of people.
  • Identify stakeholders involved in a data analysis scenario and the means and channels to communicate effectively among them.
  • Describe the requirements that emerge when working in the context of a data analytics project.
