Course overview
This course is designed to equip students with the analytical skills required to assess the global business environment. Students will learn to analyse international market opportunities; tools required for inter- and intra-organisational knowledge management; state capitalism and the internationalisation of state-owned enterprises; global talent management; sustainability; and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. It highly emphasises skill development, particularly rigorous analytical skills, research skills, argumentation, critical thinking, and judgement skills pertaining to decision-making.

Course learning outcomes
- Apply understanding of what determines the success of firms with regard to competitive, corporate and organisational strategies in the global business environment.
- Apply research skills –including problem formulation, literature review, data collection, data analysis, synthesis, and evaluation– to global business problems.
- Develop critical analytical skills within current debates, such as sustainability and corporate social responsibility in international contexts, multinational enterprises management, and economic relations between countries.
- Employ leadership, team management, collaboration, communication, and dispute-resolution skills in international business practice.
