This course develops students critical understanding of how organisations define, assess, reward, and manage employee performance within contemporary and global work environments. It examines the strategic role of performance management systems and reward practices in influencing employee behaviour and organisational outcomes by focusing on both theoretical insights and practical applications.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of performance and reward management theory and practices and their role in the context of organisational and HR strategy in the global business environment.
  • Critically analyse complex performance and reward management issues in an organisation and develop actionable, innovative, ethical and sustainable recommendations that maximise individual and team performance.
  • Critically evaluate the impact of contemporary issues on performance and reward management.
  • Demonstrate advanced level communication, both individually and within teams, to engage a range of stakeholders.
