Course overview
The aim of this course is to conceptualise and write a research or industry project plan that draws on advanced health, exercise and research understanding to address end-user needs. Writing coherent, investigable questions for either research or project; Ethical considerations of research or project work; Presentation skills; Peer review and feedback skills; Project and research designs; Research finding interpretation; Study scope and limitations; Evaluation of research/project designs; Using data bases; Endnote citation software; Academic writing; Sub-disciplines of exercise and sports science; Project resourcing.
Course learning outcomes
- Apply advanced health and exercise science knowledge and skills to plan a research project, which has the capacity to meet needs of the end-user.
- Apply project conceptualisation and management skills to develop achievable aims and outcomes, and task scheduling.
- Demonstrate an advanced capacity to critically analyse and synthesise information and communicate this in written form to suit the needs of stakeholders.
- Demonstrate professional and persuasive verbal presentation skills.
- Demonstrate skills in judgement and supportive critical feedback of peers' work.
