Course overview

The aim of this course is to extend student skills and knowledge in the practice of drawing the human figure, from observation and conceptually situated within a variety of environments and contexts. Students will develop advanced skills in the elements of human anatomy, representations of the figure through perspective in a variety of contexts.

Course learning outcomes

  • demonstrate advanced drawing, observational and perspective skills in figure drawing
  • demonstrate advanced competence in accurate representation of the figure both conceptually and from observation
  • develop an advanced understanding of contemporary representations of the figurative in professional context
