Course overview

This course aims to develop and expand design language through practical and conceptual idea generation and problem-solving processes, to resolve focused multifaceted graphic and communication design results. This course aligns with the program's intent to prepare students for designing graphic and communication design outcomes of increasing complexity by introducing design principles of composition, image design and typography for further study.

Course learning outcomes

  • Identify, assess and integrate specialist knowledge and skill for graphic and communication design in the development of results with increased complexity
  • Explain and create a range of design outcomes by analysing information and applying methods and technologies through a broad range of cognitive, technical and design skills appropriate for graphic and communication design results
  • Practice autonomy, judgement and responsibility within broad but specific project parameters
