Course overview
This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the processes and requirements involved in developing and manufacturing a biomedical consumable within a biotechnology company. It explores key considerations in product development, from initial research to production. Working in groups, students will design a product development plan and apply Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) principles. These principles will be demonstrated through a small-scale, in-house production case study. The skills and knowledge gained in this course will be highly applicable to students’ future careers in biotechnology.
