- Characterize and evaluate a number of bioactive compounds in food
- Compare and contrast the effectiveness of foods, functional foods, nutraceuticals and medicines to prevent or treat various diseases.
- Discuss issues of formulation and delivery of functional ingredients in foods
- Describe various synergies or interferences between foods and medicines
- Interpret the latest regulatory requirements for functional foods and associated health claims.
